For more than 30 years Larry Unthank has played saxophone and entertained thousands of music lovers throughout the United States. Larry combines a smooth vocal delivery, experienced stage presence, and a dynamic approach to saxophone playing to create an outstanding show for his audiences.
Larry's shows have a wide range of musicality. He journeys through jazz, pop standards and r&b with his three-octave vocal range and four-octave saxophone range. He will sprint through rhythm changes, then caress you with a ballad that will make you cry.
Teaching is a passionof Larry's. He teaches up and coming players in the Philadelphia area the art of improvisation, chart reading, and music theory. Larry has an easy teaching style that helps his students understand the numeric side of scales and chord structures along with the 12 tone and 7 note theories.
